A basement entry house plan refers to a design where the main entrance to the home is at the basement level, this is usually at the front of the home and often due to the slope of the lot. This type of plan is ideal for hilly or uneven terrain, allowing for direct access to the basement from the outside. The basement area can be finished or unfinished and is typically used as a living space, recreational area, garage space, or additional storage. It’s an excellent solution for meeting the challenge of building on a sloped lot. Basement entry designs are also very conducive to secondary or in-law suites on the basement level as access to outdoor spaces is easily achieved.
