What is a Northwest Modern style house plan?
Inside the curlicues and between the lines of 20th century progress, new movements in architecture blended together to produce an array of subtle new variations. Dating from the 70s, the Northwest Modern style took its cues from Modern and Contemporary architecture but with a hint of the Prairie style smuggled in for good measure. As such, the Northwest Modern home is distinguished by its asymmetrical design, low-pitched roof with deep overhang, and generous use of glass, but also in the emphasis on natural materials and tastefully muted colors.
